Default decisions decisions... need some help from the pro's

ok well me and my dad were thinking earlier today... my heads, intake, cam, headers are all out of the truck and the block is just sitting there... i have a set of 317's that i was going to put on my 5.3 for my front mount borg warner s475 kit.

now ive decided i want to just step up cubic inches and run either a 6.0 block on top of my 317's OR run a 5.7 block on top of my 317's?? what do you guys think? i want to make the most power i can out of either of these stock bottom end blocks.

which will handle the most power?

i bought a turbo cam from a member on here 228/222 580range lift on 115lsa.

what do you guys think i should go with 6.0(lq4?possible to run lq9?) or 5.7? and does it matter the year of the blocks also... thanks!!

i wouldn't use aluminum wouldn't think that it would be very reliable with that much psi...
but dude honestly though i would use a 6.0 lq4 with arps and that should work badass

A ls1 block will handle 15psi no problem, still be reliable.. A turbo won't be putting out more boost vs a blower unless it is set up to do so. Boost is boost..

If I had the 2 blocks sitting in front of me I would go with the lq.. It is more cubic inches, will more then likely make more power on the same psi level.. I wouldn't be to concerned about if it is a lq9 or lq4 unless it is pre 05.. The pre 05 lq motors were diff inside. The lq9 had stronger rods then the 4. After 05 they all went to the ls2 internals and have the same.. Also the comp would really bother me to much. I am running almost 10.1 and making 9-10psi. You can run that if you have your tune on. Make sure you have a good tuner thats all.. From most of what I have read a comp level of 9.5 is great for boost.. But if you have a ls1, put a good set of pistons and rods in it and beat the hell out of it.. I don't think I have ever heard of a block blowing apart from being boosted too much unless were talkin 20+psi..
