DBC 102 Throttlebody
#11
I have been leaning toward the ebay tb's myself. A throttle body is a very simple device and I have a hard time justifying $500+ for the NW, Holley, Accufab units. However, if I were to spend a premium on one, it would be the Holley or Accufab 105MM.
I ran into the idle issue on the KB with a 95mm PTM after I got the vacuum leak fixed. The blade is cracked as far as the TPS sensor will allow and still have a cold start and low speed zero throttle-idle transition issue.

Thats basically just another bleed port with a small adjustable valve. Same effect as increasing the idle set screw on the tb, except it doesnt move the blade. Pretty neat, but not needed 95% of the time. I have actually never seen that before even on the NW TB I used to have.

Timz had cold start issues with his and I adjusted his, he had a Fast I believe and it worked like a charm. It allowed me to get his IAC counts in range so it could actually adjust up and down as needed.

On some of the EBay TB's. as you open the blade, it will actually block some of the IAC passage opening restricting airflow. If opening the passage and adjusting the set screw don't allow enough airflow at cold start and IAC trimming at hot idle, a hole may be required. I know that is in a debate in itself.

ive run two of the ebay ones. the first one required some mods to get the iac installed but worked fine after that on a ls2 with ls3 heads and big cam. the second one didnt require anything and i used it on a turbo 4.8 and twin turbo 5.3 with zero issues.
i got all kinds of flak just last week here for recommending them, but a tb is pretty simple and the $90 ones work very well in my experience.
