Cam help tvs1900 tbss

Hey guys-
I'm downsizing my shop truck from a Yukon Denali to an 06 tbss. Very similar drivetrain, but looking for a little more fun out of this one.
The SS will have long tubes, lingenfelter cnc 317s (milled .020) and a Roush 1900. I tow lightweight boats and trailers daily and would love to stick with a stock(ish?) torque converter. Any good cam suggestions?

You want something on the smaller side with a decently wide LSA
217/226 on a 116+3 LSL/LXL would get it done. Should be big enough to carry out power plenty high, but it will make enough torque and idle smooth enough to get away with the stock converter.

Any part #s or manufacturers? I know my stock cam is pretty close to the ls6 and it does ok with boost.. At least turbo wise.. Just don't want to loose too much when out of boost and low revs.

Leave the cam it's got in it, spend money on suspension mods, c6 pan conversion(you will thank later), and buy a converter and build the Trans. Why take the 243's off for milled 317's? Just curious. A slightly larger than stock cam may benefit some but probly not worth the expense for the gain when using a 1900. Just my .02

And 317/243 heads are very similar. The alrgest difference being compression/chamber volume. Swapping one for the other only to mill them is silly.

The 317s are cnc ported, bigger valves and tightened up a bit. I'm rebuilding the short block and already have them off of another truck I built before. The truck is awd, so the c6 pan is a no go. The trans will be gone thru and I'd love to keep the stock converter just because of off idle power. Vortec- have you see a a similar cam in action? Thanks for the advice! I'd love to hear some more

Yes this, definitely address the oiling situation of the TBSS before it's too late. We have a pickup tube kit that fixes it also; makes it the way it should have been from GM in the first place - in the middle of the pan not the front.
As for the cam, we would be glad to spec you something. We do a LOT of work with the TBSS guys and have a lot of great products/cams for them (also have one of our own which has been through the ringer with testing).
Our Rob Style Cam is very popular with the stock converter TBSS crowd. If I know/knew you were using it with blower I would tweak the specs some. I had a customer bring us a TBSS last year - he had already installed the Rob cam & some bolt ons, it was making around 400-410rwhp. He had us install a TVS 2300 and with 10 lbs it did 611 rwhp, which was awesome. So if we tweaked the specs just a bit knowing that was your intention, should perform even better!
