Red face bypass valve whistle.

ok here it goes. I have searched the forum with nothing to show for it. I have recently installed a procharger on my truck. i am running 10lbs and a turbnoXS bypass valve.

Here is the problem. Under boost the bupass valve works properly. But when just crusing down the road under 25in of vacume. the bypass whistles loud as hell. So loud i can hear it over my radio at full blast. When vacume decreases to 15-10in the whistle goes away.

The bypass valve is a tuboXS race valve. I increased the spring pressure with washers and it helped a little but not much.

Can someone help me with this is there another adjustment that i am missing. i don't want to increase the spring pressure to much because it may surge the blower.

any help would be great

Thanx,
Trent

might help if you can plumb the valve so you can dump the air down by a frame rail?

I'm not sure which model you are running but looking at their site, it may be on the small side for your application under full vacuum. Try taking out the wahers and backing teh tension screw all the way out to let it open sooner. You also could try plumbing it back into the air filter to mask the sound. Use some pre-bent radiator hose from the local auto store and it should muffler the whistle.

By the way, I tried an generic eBay BPV similiar to the Turbo XS when I first set up my P-1SC and the spring that came with it was way too stiff. It would hardly open at full vacuum. I played around with it for a while and finally swapped it out for a Vortech Race bypass valve. Problem solved and never looked back. I've used the Vortech race on numerous Procharger kits and I am running it with my Garretts. Couldn't be happier with the results and reliability. First class units.

i run Procharger's Proflo (black) valve. Seems to get the job done with no issues. I still have mine recirculated back thru the inlet so it's pretty quiet. They are about $150. You can find them on ebay cheaper... or maybe someone has one here on PT that they want to part with.

I am running one from vortech, it is just a whoosh of air, not a whistle.. Try to dump it back into the IC plumbing, it will do away with that whistle

My dumps into the air but I have a small KN filter on the end of the hose.
Won't the IA temp go up from recirculating the air. My IAT is only 100* on a 85* day when at 60mph.
