It's been a while since I've been here. I was distressed to hear about Budhayes, he was one of the inspirations for this truck.

Several years ago, I built and installed a 383 in my 98 using iron heads and the factory manifold. We were able to get 400hp to the rear tires, but were capped there. As I started looking into upping the hp, we decided to move into a Dart SHP Big Bore block, a set of monster edelbrock CNC heads and a huge intake manifold, and a procharger F1R.

I already know I need to replace the Tranny, I am looking at the Jake's Performance 4l80E stage 5. Would love some suggestions if this is not a good piece. I am also needing some help in the conversion process from 4l60e to the 4l80e.

The final project will be a 427 small block with around 14 psi boost and an estimated 1000hp at the crank.

Anyone that has done this in a GMT400, your help would be great. From the fuel system, to the exhaust system. Stuff I need help with is everything but the engine build itself.
