Default how much shaft play is to much????

I have a MP76 thats a few years old from my kb kit.I did a few mods and got it retuned. after a bad tune my stock lq4 bottom end crapped out. Im in the middle of putting in my new forged lq9 and noticed my turbo has a considerable amount of shaft play. wheel almost touches both sids of the housing. but i wasnt getting any oil blow by or anything like that. eventually i will get a pt88 but until i can come up with that money will mine be ok? lookin to run 12-15 lbs boost for now. thought about gettin a new no3 76mm or something cheep like that for now but dont know if that will be better then what i have? any suggestions would be great thanks

Won't be better then what you have.
If the compressor wheel hasn't touched and its not oiling through
its probably fine. No need in spending the money tell you go pt88 or larger.
We are a precision dealer. Can get you a quote on one if you like.

If its a journal bearing unit and it's not seeing oil pressure there will be more slack than if it were running so I'd say you're good to go. We don't change turbos on our equipment until the wheel has contacted the housing a considerable amount during operation. RPM changes and heavy load changes will put side load on the shaft that's when they will hit the housing usually.
