Default boost question

Finally got my l33 magnuson project up and running. I started out with the 3.2 pulley and ended up switching back to the 3.4 pulley after the tires broke loose on the freeway and I went sideways. My question is how much boost should I have with the 3.4 pulley? I am getting 6pnds right now does that sound about right? I still may go back to 3.2 pulley as I did'nt have the boost gauge in it to see how much boost it is making. From the feeling of the truck it was a lot more.

The 3.4" pulley is the stock pully for the 5.3 L33, or it is what came with my kit at least. 6lbs is right. My 3.2" makes ~8.5lbs.
Did you tune for the 3.2" pulley? If the road is damp, even from just a heavy fog I can break loose the rears if I downshift into second from 70mph. You have to be careful when you have a bit of torque at your command.

The tune was set up for the 3.2 pulley. Some of it is my truck only weighs arong 3850 pounds. I may just use the smaller pulley at the drags and the othe rone on the street. However you know how power gets in your blood. I am having definate withdrawls after switching the pulley. Atleast with the smaller pulley my truck may las a while longer.

With good tuning the 3.2" pulley is going to put the L33 in the 500hp range with supporting mods.
How is your truck so light?

I need to put my truck on a diet. I just thought, at 4500lbs, that it was light. At 3850, your truck is just a few hundred #'s heavier than the wife's vette. That thing ought to really haul a$$ with maggie motivation.

I hit 38 instead of 3950 but it is a 1990 chevy ss truck with a few fiberglass pieces on. I had it weighed on one of those metal scales at a scrap yard so it could be off but with no driver in it thats what it cam back at. I really need to take this thing to the track with slicks and see what it will do. If it can really come close to 500hp it should scream through the traps.

stuck the 3.2 pulley back on and only getting about 7pounds on it. It sure makes the truck feel different. I was hoping it was more oost though.

If you have long tube headers and a good exhaust you might be about right at 7lbs. In some regards boost is a measure of resistance.
What are your other supporting mods? Cam?

I have'nt done the cam yet. No emissions flowmaster 3 inch exhaust. My next step will be to make my own longtube headers. They don't make any for my truck.
