boost??
When should I see full boost with my sidemount magnacharger. because it seems that I'm only getting about 2psi around 2500-3000rpm. gmc2 is having the same problem. I only mashed the throttle about half way and I see about 2 psi around 2500-3000rpm. I raced a guy earlier today in a red 70's ford f150 truck (with mods unknown), and I killed him. I had so much adrenaline pumping that I didn't even pay any attention to how much boost I'm was Although, shouldn't I see full boost instantly when I mash the throttle all the way down.

so is there any reason why I'm only seeing 2psi? Should I just get a 3.00" pulley from pulleyboys.com, maybe that will get me 5psi??? What do you guys think??

well for some reason the blower is only making 2psi, just like gmc2's truck is. Could it be due to the headers and free flowing exhaust because I thought a free flowing exhaust can make you loose some boost..

5.3, before going to a smaller pulley, I would look for something wrong in the setup. I'm not familiar with the sidemount units, but some things to look for are:
Air Leaks: Check around the manifold. Squirt some oil around the various joints and fittings and see if it gets sucked in, or if it changes how the engine idles.
Misplumbing: Make sure all the hoses and pipes go where they should. Try to figure out if there is a "vacuum" hose somewhere that may be bleeding off all your boost.
Miller Time: Are you perchance running a cam with a lot of overlap, in which case your "boost" is just blowing everything through the cylinder and out the exhaust pipe?
Just a few ideas off the top of my head, but you get the idea. Do some creative detective work to ensure everything is OK before jumping to a smaller pulley.
p.s. You beat me to it, but yes afree flowing exhaust can cause a drop in boost, although it would not necessarily be a bad thing.
