I had an open air breather and a check valve. I had the check valve where the PCV would normally be(04 doesnt have one) and then the breather on the passenger side with the throttle body capped off.

i agree it is strange since alot of these engines will suck up a quart of oil in 6k miles and it can cause detonation. Im just gonna plug my intake line a put a filtered breather on the crankcase. That way I know no oil is being consumed from GM's thoughtless engineering in this area. Plus I"ve noticed spuradic tip in KR sometime and I really think its from the pcv sucking in alot of oil with drastic throttle variations. I installed an older ball type pcv and it did help with consumption but the end all is just to illiminate the damn thing

Thats pretty much what I ended up doing. I just made the catchcan/ breather and hooked it up to the lines coming from each valve cover. I just plugged the manifold.

yes. Its pretty important for us boosted guys. How is your PCV setup? It may be different. You have one line coming off the passenger side valve cover(unless in the whipple install you swap valve covers) and one coming out of the drivers side at the back going to the intake manifold.
