See that is why its tempting because stock motors are so cheap and as long as you don't get crazy with it... I think 8-10lbs would do it easily. And there is no guarantee that a new engine will stay together as we all know. This one didn't.

Not only that but the diesel is ridiculously expensive to build if you hurt it. I don't do any towing either. If I did it would be different. 700-800 ft lbs @1500-2200 feels pretty good.

Save your money and buy a project car/truck. I'm with Atomic on this.

I don't mean to imply its my only driver. I have several vehicles its just that I want to enjoy driving it every day like my 07 not just at the track or weekends. I could talk my brother out of his 10 sec 63 nova or my nephews 67 468 Camaro but when could I drive them? And my Vette sat in the garage 28 days a month. No, I want another moderately fast truck. 11s will be fine

if the 6.0 just needs bearing and isn't hurt bad I'd do it. that 6.0 like to put in work more so than the 5.3. i get better towing mileage with my 6.0 now than my 5.3 did. but i'm also in a heavy *** hoe. hell if the fix is cheap enough you could whipple the 6.0.

Thanks Turbohoe. Hmmm. I think the 2.3 would probably provide plenty of boost for the 6.0 as well since I would prob run ~10 lbs 93 and meth. Not looking for a race truck just a quick work truck since I live in it all spring and summer.

I DD my truck. 110k on the motor currently at 8-9psi. Me personally if I can't DD a vehicle I own then it is not worth having. Garage queens and trailer queens are just not for me.

Black GMC, my reasoning exactly. With the cheap prices of engines nowadays and no guarantee that a forged unit will stay together either, that was the reason for my poll question.
