A couple or so years ago, I ended up with 5 marine block Chrysler 440’s in various stages of completion. A couple of them were totally complete, one was a long-block, one was a short-block and the last was just a block and crank. The price was just a place for him to unload them, as he lost his storage building to storm surge. The downside was I had to take everything he had in the building, which included bell-housing’s, flywheels, wet-pipes, you name it he had it. My wife was bitching the whole time we were unloading the trailer, but at least the bitching was short-lived, as I was able to unload the whole mess in less than a week after advertising them on Craig’s List and for a pretty good amount to boot. Of course in some circles, the marine block 440’s are in pretty good demand, whereas I don’t know if the 8.1L’s would bring that much attention. However I damned sure couldn’t blame you for rat-holing a few!
On a side note, I’m sure one would work out quite nicely in that old red Firebird shown in the last picture.
