Default best forced induction system for 8.1

I have a 2004 Yukon w/ the 8.1. I was considering the STS vs a supercharger. Had previous so so experience w/ Whipple on my 7.4. What about Kenne-Bell? I do some towing and plowing. Thanks

If I had an 8.1L I would get the intercooled Whipple hands-down, no decision really.

Towing and plowing clinches it - nothing better than a twin-screw or modified roots for low-RPM power.

even thought I think they are over rated and have terrible customer support, I have to say the inter cooled whipple.

Whipple seems to be a favorite of the 8.1L crowd, intercooled or not. Haven't heard too much about KB on the big block.

BTW, I think the new intercooled 4.8/5.3/6.0 Kenne Bell is going to be a screamer. I got some interesting info today about the new kit breaking lots and lots of tranny parts....

I ran the intercooled Whipple on my 8.1 Suburban. Awesome truck to drive! Plenty of power for towing and it ran a best of 13.9 at the track with a few other mods (TOG headers, Volant induction, customer tuning and a smaller pulley). We've sold some STS kits to 8.1 owners. Waiting for feedback now.

Thanks for all the responses. The Kenne Bell still interests me. It seems to have some advanages over the Whipple. I'd love to benefit from someone elses experience.

What is it about the KB that seems advantagous to you?

I like the fact that it uses upgraded injectors, rather than auxillary. I like the computer reprogram rather than the piggyback. I don't think its head and shoulders above anything else,I am just wondering why it is not very popular.
