i put about 12 hours in on it today and am on the way out the door for the test drive. kyle was over and got a little vid and took some pics but it has something like 8 months worth of dirt on it. first stop is the car wash. i prety much expect some kind of issue. i will report back in awhile but there wont be any performance data for a few days.

woohoo, i am beat. i am taking tomorrow off!
it runs great, drive nice. no funny noises, no leaks, didn't break down. i put 150 prety easy miles on it tonight so it is ready for an oil change and maybe a little more boost. so far i have kept it to 4psi max. it seems like it will be laggy but i expected that. the turbos are a litte higher pitched than the 88. there is some strange sounds coming from under the hood in stero. it is the loudest when i roll into it kinda hard and then let outabout 1/2 way. i think it might be turbo surge. geek said it sounds like what the deisel guys call turbo "bark". it is deep. you can hear the bov's going off too in stero but the turbos do not sound like anything special.
the headers turned a rust color right away.
it is time for me to sleep. i might not get up till 2pm tomorrow. i will post up some pics tomorrow of the charge pipes.

i like that one
. i would love to be out tuning the thing but my intercooler pump is leaking so i unpluged it and my meth pump is geting some upgrades so it really isn't ready. i have 10psi springs in the wg's and with no intercooler or meth i dont think i can run 10psi safely. i should have both of these things fixed by next weekend and will hopefully have some better performace date to share. once the driveline starts jumping around under the hood i may have some problems to share too. i am not sure if i designed enough flexability into the charge pipes, this motor really moves around. does anyone make motor mounts out of somethings firmer like "poly" whatever that stuff is?
i am really happy nothing melted on the test drive, it was 90deg last night and i was sitting at lights and in parking lots with it running for awhile and it didn't even have any funny smells coming from it (other than last years race fuel
)
the exhaust is prety loud, it is really deep and mean sounding with some resonance in the cab. i put a couple of 45deg dumps on the end of the mufflers and that helped a little. i was one 90deg elbow short of geting the pipes out the side of the truck, i will have to do that, it's a little too loud for me.
first project today is to clean the garage, it is destroyed. no scrach that, first is to take some finished pics and post them up and then clean the garage. suppose to be a nice cool 100deg out today.
