My dad got a precision tig like you have sometime last year.

When I was practicing with it on long beads the torch seemed to get kinda hot. We converted it over to a watercooled setup and man is it nice. Kinda ghetto with an ebay cooler and no sleeve for the water and electrical lines, but it stays nice and cool.

i hear what you are saying. i like to hold it by the head to give me more stability but after a few minutes it gets hot. the handle part has never got hot but that puts the tip about 4" away from my hand and i am a little shakey.

the lady at the welding shop must like me. i got out the door of the welding shop for about $1600 and that was with a cart, shield, bottle, gloves, extra nozles and electrodes and some filler. i reall dont have the process down but i am figureing it out. my welds look 100x better than when i mig it.

got another down pipe, i still have to do the 2nd wg but it should be an easy one. i dont want to finish this down pipe till i get the tranny back it just so i am sure it fits. i really like the way the thinwall stainless looks and will probably be pipeing the output side of the wg's in the shiny thin stuff.

and then there is this... ouch... i was going to wait on the intercooler/s but got a good deal on a pair of these smaller ones so thats what i am going with.

nice fitments there. The cost of the air-water ic's and complexity kept me from going that route. I have about $350 in the entire Hx system on mine, t-bolt clamps included. I would never put ice in the resivoir so I couldn't justify the money. Yours is going to be real nice

i sent it in for a check up. Chuck at FLT said everything is looking good. he is puting a billet input shaft in there while it is apart. i am also geting the stall bumped up a little and they are going to check out the tcase.

i didn't really want to send my tranny off while it was working well but Chuck insisted on seeing it and the tcase. i really think the FLT built 4l80e is about the badest tranny on the planet. where else can you get a tranny that holds 1000+rwhp dependably in a 5000lb truck? where else can you get the killer customer support that FLT gives? where else can you get a tranny with over drive, lock up converter, auto shifts not much harder than stock that can hold up to lots of hp?
