Default Bagged 2011 CCSB Wants to play w/ Boost?

So i have toyed around with the idea of putting some boost through the 4.8 that is in my 2011 CCSB Silverado. It seems more economically friendly to do that than to swap to a built N/A 6.0

I do have a few concerns though. I've been looking at the Trick Performance kit and running a 72mm turbo on it, but I'm wondering how close the turbo sits away from the engine, because once my truck lays out there isn't alot of room, but there is some.

Will I still be able to keep my A/C system intact?

For someone who is wanting to put a reliable 500whp down, what are some things I HAVE to have? I was planning on a single Walbro 255 in tank, Isky Triple 112 cam w/ PRC .650 Doubles and Hardened PRs, and a Holly Hi-Ram intake w/ 102mm TB.

Which manifold do I need(ie what style heads are on my 4.8).

Besides the cam and the turbo kit, am I missing anything?

Transmission duties will be handled by a 6L90E w/ a HD2 shift kit. What converter would you reccomend? CCSB w/ 3.73s and a 405/25/24 tire(IIRC 32")

Thanks for any and all insight.

I'd skip the intake and TB and run an aeromotive 340 instead of the 255 with 60 or 80 lb injectors

ya, dot worry about the intake, especially with the newer style intake thats on your truck, already 90mm... andlike bama2door said, the 340 would be a lot better than the 255. other than that youre on the right track for sure!! might take some custom fab work to get the turbo kit to work on a bagged truck though

The intake and tb was more of a show item than anything else. Just to basically show off.

Thanks for the headsup on the aeromotive.

Basically right now im looking at a trick stage 3 kit to handle turbo duties. Since my truck currently has LTs on it, would it be worth to get a set of shorty headers and hust run the driver side manifold since I would have to purchase a factory manifold anyway?

Anyone have any more insight on a converter for the 6spd?

with what I have planned is 500whp a achievable goal? Only turbo experience I have before this is 2jz engines which love jobs of boost

Customer just dyno'd a 2012 5.3L
Stock 9 psi 480hp.

So you goal is very reasonable and achievable.

Your on the right thinking with kits stage 3 is a great kit.
AC stays. You will need to move your ac low side suction line over. Pretty easy to do just take your time.
Intake isn't needed but for looks its cool.
Not sure what bags would be effected with the kit. ???

The reason I was concerned with it being bagged and a turbo hanging out in the engine bay is because of the tire being in the wheel well. Obviously im concerned for when the truck lays out as when its at ride height I dont think there woukd be any issues.

The turbo fits between your filler cap. and the overflow water tank.
I don't you'll have a problem either way. Is you inner fender in tact?

No. I have custom built trailer fenders attached to my factory fender inner skin.

I don't have any currently. I've got a set of used fenders on there now while mine are being re bodyworked and painted. I'll try and get some tomorrow.
