anyone use truck manifolds for their turbo kit?

You can leave the manifolds intact and still have a top mount. NO flipping required or rotating. We have build these in the past. Not as sexy as what we do now.
Also alot more crowded. This was a Garrett GT40 I had on a 2500 back in the day.

So where it comes off of the passenger mani, it does a u-turn, right where it joins up with the crossover tube from the driver's side. It then goes up to the flange. And then there's a downpipe squeezed in there somewhere. Right?

I think I remember this kit. Didn't you use to have a different screen name?

Yes, there is a U turn at the manifold driver side blinds in then up tothe turbo... DP back down. Its more like a rear or mid mount with the amount of tubing used.
