Default Anyone use Comp turbos new oil less turbos?

Found some pretty interesting turbos. Never really heard of Comp Turbo till I watched some of the Nelson Racing Engines videos, and when there charging 20k-40k for there engines and them making around 2000 boosted hp thought I would look into the parts they use. Well stumbled into the Comp Turbo website and have to say there stuff is pretty badass. But wouldnt expect anything less when you paying almost 3k for a single turbo. Anyone ever use one of these turbos? Being oil less they should be pretty versatile. The turbos use a high heat greese that they say lets the turbo spin alot easier and faster minimizing turbo lag.

Heavy grease?
Wonder how they compare to the Aerochargers?
Would help with midmounts or remote mounts, but the price is up there.

its exciting...but you know it costs to be the boss and these are very cool for packaging, now if the parts you dont need off set the extra cost of the turbo...

That's a good question idk if the parts that wouldn't be needed would offset the price. I think you would be still more in on this then a conventional turbo system. But tO have sOmethin like this is pretty cool something you don't see very often.

There's a thread on tech about these. They supposedly spool about 1500 rpm sooner than a billet turbo. So lets say you got a single billet 6765 to remote mount. 1200 for it, plus the oil pump and lines are what another 500 or so? I believe a 72 version of these are 2200 and would spool much quicker which would negate the remote mounting and would also have no hassle with oil feeding. I'd love to try one since it seems the remote mounted setups always make lots of torque which kind of makes me want to try a mid/remote mount setup

Just called them. Very helpful and informative. They suggested a CT43 7475 rear mounted on a 402. Should spool by 2500-3000 and support up to 1000whp. Only lines I'd need to run would be water lines to cool it. T them off the heater core and no problems. Seems like a good turbo to me. Maybe I'll get to use one.

If you're that 'remote' why not just get a Bosch water pump, small radiator and reservoir?

The reason they make more tq, is because everyone uses a smaller turbo on rear mounts. Then they turn up the boost and run out of turbo, which causes the tq to go so high. Same thing happens on a front mount, when you run out of turbo the tq will go way up.
