I ran a 255 and 60's and was all done about 560 on the dyno with my 5.3/70mm just for comparison.
I'm looking to do a similar type build with my green truck one piece at a time and I'm considering a 4.8 and a larger BW S300 turbo. I'll be on a built 65E for a while with a CircleD 3200, then after it checks out, an 80E and Circle-D's new similar inexpensive converter for the 80. All with a stock 3.42 rear with a tru-trac. I'm also only looking for 450ish. Just somethig fun, very reliable, and that anybody can drive. Probably put some very quiet exhaust on it too.
That's a damn good looking truck you picked up there.

I have a similar setup and used a Precision Turbo and Engine wastegate, nice quality and shipped for $240. Also comes with flanges and 5 different springs. Works really well on my 7psi 5.3.

Pretty good comparison as far as setups go. What kind of boost were you seeing on the 5.3?
Sounds like we'll be shooting for pretty similar setups. I take my trucks on too many 300+ mile road trips to be getting radical with them. While I know **** breaks no matter what kind of power levels I want to avoid it as much as possible by not pushing the envelope.
Still wondering if I should just throw a TVS on it with a 3.4" pulley like Brian had on his red GMC

It's been a while back but I want to say I was at 8.5psi at that power. Temps were way cool, IATs in the 60's and about 20deg timing... I want to say 11.8ish AFR....
My reg cab won't be seeing any road trips since we've got the crew cab but if it's in the shop or I'm driving it or whatever, wifey needs to be able to drive the little truck. I'll be able to turn it down to 4psi if she needs to go somewhere and not worry abort her wrapping it around a tree. This is why it has to be 100% reliable, no switches, glitches, or alarms that she needs to concern herself with. I'm still hot pipe shopping so I don't know how the turbo will be situated yet but as far as efficiency goes after looking at compressor maps etc, I'm liking the smaller BW's for what were looking at doing.

That old setup sounds perfect, I would think that would be good for mid 4s all day long on a 4.8 liter.
