Default Alky, Injectors, and Pulley going in

Went to the track Friday. Best I could muster was 13.12. Warming up a bit so not unexpected. That's .2 off my best time in cooler weather.

Anyway, wired up the pigtails for a set of 42# Ford Injectors going in. I've had them for a while now. Just haven't had time to get them in. My duty cycles have been hoovering in the 85+% range. With the 2.9 pulley I have coming time to step up the fueling a bit.

I've also noticed my intercooler pump not running sometimes and weak flow on other occasions. Usually a slight tap on the pump brought it around. Got a replacement pump via the brown truck today.

Last but not least I've gotten a meth injection kit from Alky Control. Got the pump mounted and the meth tank in. Still couple hours getting it wired and dropped Julio a mail today with the right length of lines I need. Probably a week from getting it going.

With tuning hopefully I will have a warm weather 12 second truck.

wow, some great mods your doing there Roger! That truck is definitley going to be in the 12's! How much boost are you planning to run, i think you get about 8-9 lbs with that pulley? Why do you have to use the ford injectors? Just wandered if they had a special fittment or performance advantage on your setup. good luck. Duh, saw 10 #'s in your sig!

The Ford 42# injectors are rated 42 lb/hr at something like 43psi fuel pressure. They should flow about 48 lb/hr at our 58psi fuel pressure. They are the next step up from the 42# in presently. Easy to tune from what I hear. I don't need much more. I am about done modding. You do have to swap out the connectors for them and shim up the fuel rail to get them to work. Next would be something like the 60# Motorons which I think would be to much and harder to tune.

Really don't know what the 2.9 pulley will net me boost wise. 10 psi is the goal. Might settle for 9.

Cool

That sounds very good.

Now you get to worry about the drivetrain all the time.

Good thing you have the trans beefed up.

Good luck at the track.

with the meth kit you may not need the larger injectors. depends on how much you plan on turning it up.

i run my alky kit most of the way up and pull a lot of fuel with tuneing. i was running at 90% or so with my 96lb injectors but with a fair amount of meth i now see more like 75% dutycycle.

Parish, that makes sense. I think that is why I got so far on the 42# injectors before running out of fuel earlyer. I think my tuner Rick let the meth fuel me as the boost built up. I start running out of fuel just as my meth's two bar map reached it limit of 14.7 psi boost. To run 20 psi, I have to upgrade to the 3 bar and extra nosel. I need to upgrade my pump and injectors too... The inline fuel pump can only go so far. Good info.

You are right. I may not need the injectors with the Meth. I plan on getting my fueling right without Meth at 10psi. I know that will up my duty cycles so mandate the bigger injectors. Then add smallest amount of Methanol I can and keep the IAT's below about 120 degrees on a full 1/4 mile pull during the summer. If my A/F is way out of wack I'll then pull a bit of fueling to see If I gain 1/4 et. If I don't gain much I'll just let it run rich A/F for the incase the Meth fails. I should still be safe. My logic anyway... Might not be right.

LMAO. Point taken. You obviously know what you are doing. Just thinking what works for your power levels might not apply to my puny setup. Guess I am thinking of the Meth kit as more of a chemical cooler and not seeing the potential of fueling.

Yeah I am really worried about the G80 and driveshaft. Wonder why?
Think I would have already wasted the G80 if not for spreading out the load via the 4wd system.
