Air Filter Directly on TB?
#2
I was gonna try to run mine that way this weekend but my filter is too large and will hit the hood and most likely fall off or bend up lol.
I dont see why it owuld cause a problem. Plenty of turbo guys run a filter directly off the intake with no problems. Im thinking of trying to find a flatter filter to do just that.

In all truthfulness I doubt the IATs would be much different unless you have a true blocked off intake and pulled the headlight out while racing. If you already have a good intake system though then this would be usless and possibly detrimental
My problem is my air filter doesnt fit my current pipe too well and it falls off. I do run the 1/4 with my headlight out though = total ricer

LOL...I finally got around to putting in a good CAI, been running the stock airbox the whole time. Now I will be running without the headlight as well
The stock airbox pulls through the fender though, so even if there is some restriction it's still getting cold air. Unless it heats up anyway in the tube between the airbox and the throttle body?

well, i had to modify my k&n airbox when i got the radix, and now its trying to make its way through my hood, and i dont feel like fixing anything else, so i figured i'd ask you guys about that. F8L_Z71, i didnt even think about that. It probably would hit unless i got a HD hood. I was also thinking about the heat issues. What could i do about an airbox? should i delete my maf when i get efi live?

K&N makes a flatter rectangular or oval shaped filter thats slimmer that just the big round ones. I am guessing that would work. I know we've all seen it done on 'vettes with limited space there. I would think that if you have that kind of room up front that making some type of ram air system would be better that just sticking it behind the radiator as mentioned. those two slots in the front of my bumper pad look like good candidates for a ram air system once I get the fan shroud and junk out of the way with some e-fans.

true.. I guess on a Radix if you could get it to work or come up with the shortest path possible for the inlet tube then you'd be better off. I have a tendency to think more along the lines of n/a applications.
