I have no idea what it was running before the turbo, I'm starting to wonder if I have something going on w/ the engine that is preventing me from producing a good amount of power

I have a lot of valve chatter (when the hood is open and it's at idle), but figured it was ok as no one ever says anything about it

There are other issues here. First you need to start with reliable data. A track with real timers and HPT or the like for the engine trans stuff.

Sounds like everything is still good.

What were your previous 1/4 mile times before the turbo?
I've seen some trucks run slower and some run faster.

If you can get some scans, you might wanna send them over to me so i can take a look and analyze them, then send a retune if needed.

i think you need to re-work your tune.. 11.0 a/f ratio is way rich.. tune to 11.7 to 11.8 a/f ratio under wot that alone should give you 20-35 rwhp

it's not way tooo rich, it's on the richer side and "safe" side, but it's not too rich.
Too rich would be 10.0 and richer, causing HP loss that would significantly make his track times faster.
Bringing the a/f ratio to 11.7 will not get him where he needs to be, it will probably not even get him in the 13's. (according to the interceptor gauge).

imo, low 11's is right where it needs to be.

doesnt seem like your too off with the times. a 5.3 with a 4l80 behind it on only 8psi would be lucky to see 13's in my book. i have a hard time believing it will hit 12s. but good luck hope you get it figured out.

Nelson tuned it to 11.5 afr, I forgot to state that in the begining. After he tuned it in person, he told me he tuned it to 11.5- then once I plugged my gauge back in it was telling me a 11.1 at WOT, so my gauge is most likely off a little.

I don't know what it ran pre-turbo, but it wasn't bad at all, I actually have video of the acceleration before I installed the turbo. I have someone that will scan it, I doubt anything is wrong with the tune though since I know it is spot on since you tuned it in person. I'm wondering if I have low compression or something more complicated

It sucks I don't have a track w/ timing near me. It wont be for at least a couple weeks before I can make a trip to somewhere

I know the feeling bud.. I've spent well over $34,000 for my setup. this includes the 5 jatco pos "built" transmissions, lol luckily only ended up paying for 3, transmission guy felt sorry for me after that.. I'm doing one last round of mods and if this fat pig of a truck doesn't perform i give up..

mod's i'm doing to try for a 11 sec. pass
1) hks EVC-VI electronic boost controller ( crank the boost up with the flip of a switch )
2) CSF dual core race ready radiator (Stock Radiator temps cannot get away from 205-215f) and this is causing my trans teps to get to 185f as well which imo sucks..
3) Snow performance stage 2 kit ( going to get tuned for 10-12psi and get my fat bi#ch of a truck addicted to meth, roflmwao)

if another 60-70 rwhp cant get me .3 in the 1/4 im hanging up my dragracing shoes for this truck as it's just not worth it..

Still kinda wish I would've spent 35k on mods on a new mustang, lol would have a 8 second mustang.

Couldn't be farther off with that guess, I ran 12.1 with my rcsb 4x4 4l80e bone stock cam stock valve spring 120k mile 5.3 truck at 10psi. Hell, I ran high 12's in my 6000lb crew cab stock 6.0 at 6psi and stock cat back. I'm confident its in your tune somewhere or something minor. Nothing against mail order tunes, but it's tough to get them 100% perfect the first time, also, it's tough to get aggressive with the timing without tuning it in person. Give allen a couple logs, try a retune or two and I'm sure he'll get it right, or tell you what's wrong and that thing will run in the 12's all day long with what you have. A small cam will obviously help you, but I did well with the stock cam, just shift it about 55-5600 to stay in your peak power.
