8psi, 3000rpm stall.. ran a 9.08 in the 1/8th mile.. why can't I win?
#11
I figured I should be running WAY faster than this. Tune was done in person by nelson performance. The 9.08 in the 1/8th mile converts to a mid 14 second in the 1/4 mile. I figured I should be running hopefully in the 12's with my setup, once everything is worked out (I've been working out the bugs for the past 3 months).
So, is 8psi and running a 14 second 1/4 mile normal?
my 0-60mph was a 5.52 second
my fuel pressure would run up to 70psi once I go, then lower down to 68psi and stays there constant. My afr is dead set at 11.01 the whole time. I'm using an edge racing torque converter, I'm not sure if that is slipping or not- it doesn't feel like it

A LS6 cam, isky 212/212 112lsa cam, speed inc TU0, custom grind eps, etc would all help out..
The Edge racing converter you have is it a really loose converter? What is the STR (stall torque ratio) on it?

You need to get a cam. Pretty much any cam would benefit you compared to the stock cam in the 5.3L.

KB- I know what you mean, but I had pushed the button to activate it right when I was lined up lol

Are you intercooled? What kind of iats are you running? Are you maf or speed density tuned? Any check engine light? Are all your plugs and wires good?

I'd say you should be running mid to high 12's 1/4 with that setup with a half decent launch. I had a similar setup ( bone stock 5.3/tc76/rcsb) and it ran a best of 12.1 with 10 psi and an 80e. You should be about the same as that. The 11.01 afr isn't costing you much, maybe timing is low? How's it feel on the street? Seem to run good? Bog, hesitation, misfire?

you dont NEED a cam to be in the low 12's with your setup. you should be low twelves in that rcsb now. I really think you need to get it on a real track and get confirmation. BTW a stage two wrx should run early 12's and if you were a car behind in the 1/8th you are about .2 behind him.

I am intercooled, the Iat's will be in at about 105 degrees Fahrenheit while waiting in line to get to the line, once I go though it cools down to about 85-90 (it was about 70 degrees outside)
no misfiring or bogging, it feels good on the street. I'm also still running a MAF and the check engine light is off and no minor codes show up on the scanner.
If I get someone to run some data logs on it, could I post them on here and maybe someone can pin point what is going on?
would the humidity have a major effect? 42% humidity that night
