8 rib vs 10 rib
#41
I decided today to send the ATI kit back in full. I'm just going to go with the IW 8 rib kit. I spoke with Rex this morning and he had some concerns about too much side load on the crank and bearing life. I've heard that concern echoed on ls1tech here and by a couple other people that I have talked to. With everyone's positive experiences with the 8 rib setup so far, I think it would be better for me to go with something proven than to reinvent the wheel. Hopefully the IW kit will be much more of a bolt-on and go kit than the ATI kit was.
supersub, how complete was the IW setup?

j/k
Be cool to see someone develop a seperate drive for the S/C only... leaving accessories on 6 rib. For crank side load... no worries... especially on forged cranks. Cranks nowadays are built much better than the cranks of yesteryear's. HodRod mag just put out a story with a BDS 8-71 on an LSx platform... Imagine crank side load there
...Did you tell ATI exactly what the problem(s) were and why you were returning? They won't learn unless they get some real world feedback. I'm glad you have an alternative path with supportive folks.
