Well my 5.3 is a goner. If you have high miles I truly recommend you change your timing gear and chain. My timing gear broke and took out my motor. Turned number four into shrapnel. Bent almost every valve in the ls6 heads. Went shopping around for a 5.3 found a good deal on a complete 6.0 wire harness and all. After a few headaches got the motor in and I really think this thing all stock minus spring and on low boost would have eaten my 5.3 alive. So far I am in love all over again with my Tahoe!!
I'll post pics when I get good signal.

Way more ***** and as far as I can tell way more mileage. She just moves along with ease.
A guy came Into my dads shop while I was doing the swap. Said he had a high mileage hoe and decided to change the chain just because. What he found inside was that his gear had cracks but had not split yet. That's why I'm putting this out there.
That said I love this 6.0!!! Climbing up the mountain to my parents house was a breeze. Didn't even need the boost for the steep stuff.
