Couldn't reuse the mani since it was loaded with bits so we took some stress out on it with a desert eagle .50 cal. .

Running a LS2 style gear would eliminate that problem, huh?

And yes, 6.0's should have been installed in every truck from the factory.

Thats good to hear, I have not had anything smaller then a 6.0 for along time so I was curious what you noticed as the biggest difference. I had a 03 with a 5.3 but thats been awhile.

Boosted 6.0L's are awesome. I have one in my Silverado and S10. It was night and day difference when I switched from the 5.3 to the 6.0.

Sad face lol. I've got the 4.8 pulling me around. It wants to get into boost going up pretty much any hill. But hey that's what turbos are for

I didn't expect the kind of difference I got. Night and day for sure. It's got a good load behind it today that would **** off the 5.3 so this will tell the whole story.

Congrats on your new power and new found fun again !
It's nice to get that feeling .

There's no doubt the 5.3s are great running engines , but going from one to a 6.0 especially in a heavy vehicle is a big difference . From the deeper idle tone to the extra grunt on the bottom end .

Now thanks for the warning on the cam gear , but I don't want to scare all the peeps with 5.3s , the 183k 5.3 that was originally in my truck was fine , I opened it up to do a cam swap and all was well , but I did replace the timing gears and chain while I was there . So my advice like yours is if your going to cam or force feed an engine def replace the timing set .

Btw you don't have to drop the front diff to do it ,only if your going to replace the oil pump , then you can just loosen all the oil pan bolts and gain enough clearance to do
