if i don't do the entire fuel system upgrade now, couldn't i just keep the boost turned down to keep me at like $600rwhp or so? I definately don't plan to drive around with the turbo cranked up all the way. going from 400hp to 600hp is gonna freak me right out anyway. lol

Yeah, you definitely can hit 600 easily -- hell I hit that on an aborted run at 14psi lifting at 5300rpm on the stock stuff and on pump gas. Parish is still the benchmark, so you can do 1000rwhp on the stock stuff (except injectors and fuel pumps)

Ya that is a option. The only problem is that boost is like a drug, a very addictive drug.

so i've got 3 possible fuel solutions.

1) buy the "1000hp" fuel system from speed-eng. Then get a vic jr, rails, injectors, regulator and fuel rail install kit from Nasty. stock fuel lines and tank. (just under $2000)

2) vic jr, rails, regulator and injectors and install kit with my walbro intank and walbro inline and hope for the best. (under $1500)

3) complete system from nasty from custom tank(stock location) all the way up to the vic jr intake. (over $3000)

i hope i'm not violating any rules by posting prices. they are not exact prices, just aproximate

This is a tough call. Speed says I don't need a sumped tank with their setup. They have taken it over 700rwhp without any problems. The only problem i see is the pump they use is supposed to be very loud. Aeromotive A1000

The second setup is cheap, but, I know i'll have to keep at least 1/4 tank and i'm told it is probably good for about 650rwhp

The 3rd options is just friggin awesome. Certainly gets the WOW factor. Obviously this is the BEST way to go.

I'm looking for some advise from the experts. Also, are 60lb injectors gonna be enough? Isn't there a problem using anything over that?

If you are cranking out enough HP to need the rails, manifold, etc., then no, 60lbers are not enough. Once you get past that, you can find the odd high impedence injector in a 75lb/hr, but almost everything is low impedence -- which turns out to be cool anyway...

To run the low z injectors, you need a new injector driver. Versafueler makes a nice one that will work wonders for big injectors (it's true peak and hold -- my 75lbers + versafueler idle better than my 60lbers without it did).

Assuming you need 900 flywheel to make your rwhp goals, then you need in the 75lb/hr @43.5 psi range (assuming a .65 BSFC, the largest ussually associated with turbo setups, and 80% duty cycle).

I had this made to go along with 2 Bosch 420's. It fits in the stock tank nicely and the fuel guage still works. I haven't had any issues running the tank down either. I'm not sure you'd need the Bosch pumps but they don't make much noise which I like

Who made your Bosch setup I would be really interested in buying that setup I already have a Bosch 420 and was planning to go with a fuel cell and a built in surge tank, your setup looks like a better way to go.

Do you guys have plastic tanks? Is that why you can't sump them?

Something I've seen done (not on a Silverado et al and I have no clue what kind of underhood space is available) is a small fuel cell underhood that is fed by the stock setup with a high level return line to the stock tank. That acts as a reservoir for a big pump with a variable-speed controller which feeds whatever rails etc. The stock pumps have virtually no head pressure with that combo so the flow rates are very high and the big pump does the real work.

It's not a simple, clean install but it'll support big power and keep the stock tank.

That makes pefect sense. An extra couple gallon resivoir for a 1/4 mile blast and then the stock pump makes up when you let off...hmmmmmmm.
yeah, we have plastic tanks.
