Default 408+what=750rwhp?

I need a new FI setup to go along with my new 408. Here's what I'm looking into. Procharger F1C, Livernois 76mm, Twin Rotrex from W2W, or a custom turbo built by my engine installer.

The procharger is gonna be by far the cheapest route but my god they are loud as a **** and i think the wifey will flip the hell out if i get that.

I've seen NO dyno numbers from the Livernois kit and definately none from it strapped to a 408.

The twin Rotrex would require me to also purchase an intercooler and have my installer figure out how to plumb it and how to hook it to my TB/Manifold. Looks very tricky.

A custom kit would be ideal, but, probably the most expensive. I would say we are talking about a $3000 difference from the procharger to the custom kit. YIKES!!!

I'm leaning hard toward the Livernois kit but the lack of good info is scaring me.

I dont think so but it wouldnt hurt to call them. I was thinking of running an STS with my 408 and using a gt-70 ot the turbonetics t-72 if possible. I think that would put down an estimated 750+hp to the wheels if it is set-up right.

edit: I put links in mmy first post

I think a t-72 would be about max on a 408.

Why dont you step it up a little to the 418 or 427?

Cost and reliability would probably be greatly affected tho...

DanaliHD, on a serious note, I'd love to see someone really do a high HP ATI kit justice. Not to many of those running around that I know of. What about the Whipple tuner kit?

Dan~ I think that a nice F-1 procharger would do you nicely. Or even a D-1SC would be nice, seeing as how it is a daily driver. You are going to need a decent size stall in there to make it all work too.

I may still consider the F1C kit. The price is right no doubt. ****, it's cheaper than a radix. The whipple tuner kit is a thought, but, still being developed and pricey. I had been talking to Starr and they want over $9000 for theirs.

The F1's that i've heard online were on mustangs so maybe they won't screech as loud on a 408. No idea. I'm scared. lol

F1C??? You mean F-1 or F-1R???? I think that blower might be a little much for your street, all year driver. Also the D-1SC only makes 75 less peak hp and it spins to 62,000 rpms. That should be plenty fast for your set up.

according to Don, the D1SC is too small for the 408. The F1C is a new headunit according to Don and the guys at EPP who i'd probably buy it from since don and mike never bothered to get back to me with a price.
