I've got mine idling at 650 too, that just takes tuning sweat

Why is that a good cam for a turbo (a serious question to Don, btw, not a pissing match question )? Is the exhaust bias intended to help the spool? I'd think that cam would be hurting the turbo's power while under boost -- my experience with turbos and forward splits is that they run rougher and make less power when compared to a reverse split. I'd think cam with a healthy intake bias and a really wide LSA would be better for helping spool.

So,how do you figure it will feel like a dog with lag?
If that was directed at me, I don't I said it will have big a big spool, which it will regardless of cam choice. Its still a strong turbo for what Dan wants (by which I mean a good choice if that wasn't clear lol)

If you want earlier power you run the right Cam. Mikes car only has a 218/230 Cam in it.It idles at 650rpm like a car with just a Cat back exhaust.Very stealth

lag is a prety subjective thing. i felt my pt88 on a 408 was laggy, i sold it to a guy that put it on a 5.3 an he says it isn't that laggy , this guy is used to a whippled 6.0 so if there is some lag i think he probably will notice it. once he gets used to the 700hp he gets with boost the preboost power he has now will feel slow.

Well actually it feels laggy because you run say 450hp/450tq then it spools to double that in 1k rpm.So it does feel like alot of lag but your destroying the car next to you Something like a Maggie feels fast because it's instant. The Mag will pull at first on the Turbo but the Turbo vehicle will past it like it's standing still after. Either way you get use to the power and the vehicle still feels slow

As for the Cam.I've tested some in the past and didn't see much difference except the bigger Cams would take longer to spool then make more topend power. The smaller Cams spool quicker, give a stronger midrange but flatten out up top.I'd rather have midrange.

so, about that fuel system. Someone help me make a decision. I'm thinking vic jr, 75lb low imp with converter, and Speed-Eng setup but instead of the aeromotive pump, a weldon 600A.

1-Weldon A600 won't be enough,you need 2 of them.

What about the Tank setup?

What hot side A/R did they pick for the T80?

Both of my turbo cams are intake-biased, wide LSA, lot of lift for the duration (aggressive lobes, so a bit RPM limited).

When you've got enough power off-boost, "lag" (such that it is) is actually kind of fun. That surge as the turbo comes online will get the adrenaline going.

The 1.30 A/R Q-trim BB T76 I run on my SB (393) will go from vacuum to 10 psi (the most boost I've ran so far) in about .7 seconds. If the transmission downshifts, boost is basically instantaneous. So, I've setup the shift strategies to be somewhat conservative about downshifting (requires a lot of throttle position to get a downshift). I'm always a little concerned when dancing through traffic that an unexpected downshift will cause me to flatten a Festiva...

that's big money. not sure it's worth it. it's $3100 with Motron 60s and $3500 with 75lb low imp. with converter. This is with 1 weldon 600a. with 2 it would be another $400 or so.

$4000 for a fuel system. I think that's gonna have to wait a little while.

How about a moderate sized pump and a voltage booster? boosters run around $200. That may save some coin.

not a big fan of the voltage booster. to me that is just asking the pump to burn up.

FWIW, I ran a voltage booster (Kenne Bell Boost-A-Pump) on my SB truck for 8 years...
