I haven't mounted my trans cooler yet but it's going just below the steel bumper but it's a SS bumper with a little more flow through the lower section. I'm also running a 4" IC behind the grill.

I had mine mounted between the intercooler and the AC condenser but those 2 angle pieces of square tubing that go up to where hood latch is had to be cut and redone differently.

I had the same issue as you. I had a shop do mine and honestly I haven't taken the cover off over the radiator to see exactly how they did it but this is what I told them to do and it's where my trans cooler is now.

I took one of the pics you posted and drew some stuff on it to explain. Where the red lines are I told them to cut those out. Then where green lines are I told them to weld in some new tubing to tie everything back together. inside that new green rectangle is where my truecool is.

Exactly what Rick tried to tell me. I could weld it but have to take off and bring to my work suck. They are aluminum

That is not what I explain was an option to do.
03-07 has Huges amount of room between core support and back side of bumper or grill.
We have installed a 6" core in ther with some trimming once grill installed you could not see trimming.

I would not put anything that produces heat in front of the intercooler, an intercooler has a hard enough time using the ambient air temperature to cool the charge. Adding a trans cooler with 250° fluid in it will be counterproductive. If I was in your situation, I would put the cooler under the truck with electric fans.

I didn't know you had the tall 4" IC. I agree with Mikegyver, mount it low with electric fan.
