I got the engine in on Friday. It was running lean and hot. So the tuner drove down to my house on thanksgiving Sunday and tuned it. Free of charge. Which is nice to see especially on a long weekend.

The truck goes well. I feel like there's some power left on the table and well get to it in the spring when the Meth kit is in.

I'd like to thank kyle from Thompson motorsports and rick from trick turbos. and Chris from circle D and Neil from horsepower solutions.

Of all the choices for everything I based my decisions on what I'd seen as far as customer satisfaction went from reading about these fellas online.

Here's the break down.

TMS 370- diamond forged pistons and forged rods.

Stock 799 5.3 heads.

PAC 1218 springs.

Howards cams 226/232. 578/.587 112+3lsa.

Dod vvt delete.

LS9 head gaskets.

ARP head bolts.

Circle d triple disc billet 2800 stall.

Stage 3 trick turbo kit.

72lb FIC injectors.

Compression is 10.8:1

Boost is turned down to 4psi.

I know a lot of guys say that the compression is too high for boost....but what about the LS2 and LS3 guys pushing boost on their aluminum stock setups?

For real that's a serious question..

All in all im happy I get to drive my truck now.

It has a nasty little idle and is loud as hell. Turns heads when I fuel it up at the gas station. And well it hauls ***.

I'll have more videos sometime. And will be re dyno tuning it in the next few months.

You can boost that compression, just keep in mind when comparing to a car that wieght plays a factor as well. You can't say they are x compression with x timing on x boost so I can also. It's not a direct comparison. You just have to be careful on timing and run good fuel. The higher compression will make it more responsive out of boost.

Agreed, you can certainly boost it, just more prone to detonation.

Personally, I would drop on some 6.0 heads, lower the compression a bit, and get greedy with the boost. Extra boost can more than make up for a small loss in compression.

Come spring or whenever I get my Meth kit in we'll see what kinda power we can make.

Running safely at 11ish AFR wot right now.

Yeah 94 octane pump gas.

Pondering what I'll have to do if I can only find 91 octane sometimes.

Octane booster? More Meth and keep an eye on AFR?

Next year I'll drop the compression.

Octane boosters are a gimmick, don't depend on those.

I watched the popular hotrodding test or whatever on octane boosters. Saw that they said they were gimmicks. However the just proved it didn't increase the power of the engine they were testing. Didn't touch on the subject of raising the octane rating.

I gotta find something though. I work out of town and use a company truck. But of I had to use my truck. Or if I was on a road trip. I'll need something to boost octane.

Another question....

LEADED FUEL?! I have access to 100 octane aviation fuel. Its leaded.

Anyone used leaded fuel before? I have no cats.

I've used Torco accelerator, I kept a close eye on my a/f gauge and it seemed to work well. Allen Nelson recommend it to me.
