Psi is irrelevant, it's cfm that you should be looking at. Also the more you compress air the hotter it gets, the hotter it gets the less dense it becomes therefore each gram of air contains less O2. And ultimately that's what your after...O2.

 

Psi is a measurement of restriction, not power. A motor that flows less will have higher psi and less cfm than a motor that flows more with lower psi.

 

Mass flow rate is an even better tool than volumetric flow rate (cfm). Its the product of density and the volumetric flow rate. Its also on most compressor maps too.
