Stupid question being a newb to this side of the spectrum. But dont some engines respond better to the FI than others? I fully get the displacment differance but there are other factors like rod ratio's and and ring land depth and so forth. So what seems to respond the best to the FI ?

Bigger is not ALLWAYS better. Many times a 76mm turbo will make more power on 346CI or less.
