2008 suburban whipple , cam, converter, etc...
#1
So i sold my low 9 second 88mm turbo srt8 jeep because im getting too old to climb under it to work on it any more. Its been a few months now and my bone stock 2008 5.3, 4l60e that i used to tow the jeep to the races with the Burb but it is too damn boring. Well I called Kooks and ordered 1 7/8" headers. Then called texas speed and ordered a dod kit, cam (Texas Speed & Performance Camshaft: 216/228, .600/.600, 113 LSA 108 ICL,) .660 springs, ati dampner, circle d 278 converter, etc... then i called Brian Tooley racing and ordered a whipple 2.3 supercharger kit without a tune and a DW400 Module + Plumbing Kit for the fuel side. I know the transmission is doomed but ill try to take it easy until i change it for a 4l80. i just need to save some cash first. Atomic solid engine mounts. For tuning I ordered HPtuners v2 pro kit. I still need to figure out who to use for tuning. TSP recommended Mail order tuner. Any other suggestions for a tuner or is this group best for my situation?
I do all the work myself with the exception of tuning. Im not a bid dyno type of guy. I prefer to race quarter mile and dont to set the world on fire. We live in southwest Florida and this is a going to be limited to 10ish pounds of boost or less. Do i need to open the ring gap? Im using my stock 799 heads and if i get the itch one day ill put a larger engine in it. Thats it for now. waiting on parts to be delivered so I can get started.
