2.8" pulley belt upgrades...
I suppose I should have known this was coming running a 2.8" pulley
I threw the belt twice yesterday, and managed to break the stop on the tensioner,
The first time it actually got me out of a traffic ticket....tried out a 4wd launch from a light and didnt see the cop stop behind me
cop: "why were you squealing tires?"
me: "I didnt mean to. I cant stear, can I get out a take a look, I think something is broken"
Fortunately I found the belt off and blamed it on that
Anyway, the current belt is a 109.8" and I am moving to the gates 108" hd belt, 100mm idlers, and the HD tensioner. Basically everything I can do short of an 8 rib setup, which I see no need for.
I get around 7 pounds of boost at WOT with the 2.8" pulley btw.

I went through 2 of those tensioners due to that problem. I went to the shorter napa belt, seemed to help alot. And btw, think you can take out that bolt in the head for lifting the motor, less weight!

I learned the hard way. It is the slack in the tensioner that lets the belt jump off.
If I belt to zero slack that is after you pry the belt on the tensioner is bottomed out, you will never jump a belt again. What happens is when you get in a dig and build boost the belt stretches a few inches then you bump the rev limiter or back-off fast and the belt shrinks a few inches. I know this sounds lame but I used to use a bungee at the track. I bet there is some other bungee guys out there.

Im running a 2.85 pulley and right now with my base tune am seeing 7psi also. ( just providng a lil info)
Any way I have the HD tensioner and crank pin kit from left coast joe, And my Belt is Tight as heck but goes on and ive had zero issues so far with belt throwing or " dust" or alignment.
Its a Dayco poly cog, I can go get the number if ya need it.

I ordered the gates 108" hd belt, which people seem to like. The tune will not effect boost with a supercharger. I ordered the tensioner from magnacharger this morning, it seems to be cheaper to buy directly from them instead of their dealers...

yeah i know, that was just kinda for people who have been wanting numbers from my combo, dyno next week.
But anyway Please post how ya like the belt you ordered, I havent tried a gates belt .
So the Belt and tensioner broke just from a WOT launch? Or when you let off?
