Default 102mm TB with x-link - Any have setup working?

I bought a boosted ching chong 102mm TB that alot of the CTS-V guys recommended, but it threw codes due to the xlink conversion on truck. Does anyone run the NW 102mm with xlink and it works? Dont want to drop 600 on a TB and end up with the same issue.

Side note - I have a 102mm boosted TB for sale on the cheap ; - )

Internally the Chinese 102mm is completely different than a NW 102mm or even a GM 90mm. You get what you pay for.

Yeah, it threw several codes and wouldnt fire. I put the LS3 back on and have been rolling with it, but at some point I will send the blower out for porting and want to have the TB ready on the shelf.

I agree the ching chong ones are clearly different, but that does not answer the question around the NW 102 working with xlink. I have no issue spending the money, just dont want to spend it and have the same issue. With the LSA guys using the boosted cheap ones, I figured I would give it a shot and report out, and here is that report, lol.

JMTC but I would stick with the 90mm whether or not on the brand of 102mm. Pains in the ***, they are and for not much ROI.

Only reason i am considering the upgrade is when i open up the snout to 102mm it will be pointless with a 90mm ls3 TB. I have 5" intake now, necked down to 90mm TB. Truck now sees up to 13psi on a 2.9" pulley in perfect weather.

Bigger mouth and ported blower with a 2.7 pulley should be max effort with the 1900. Might add meth at that point to help texas heat.

A good tuner should be able to work out the kinks with the 102mm. Good luck to ya...sounds like fun 😁

On a p59 ecm it will cause issues. You can’t tune around it. On the newer ecms you can tune around it. The blade flutters ar high airflow and kicks numerous codes.

Eventually you’ll have issues with the LS3. It uses the same weak motor that Nick Williams uses on the 102. They call it boosted, but don’t get your hopes up about it working on a P 59 computer. I have had one and went down that road and they had no answer. I have threads on here documenting it.

Ls2 is the one with the strong motor. But only a 90mm.

I ended up converting mine to DBC and using a Holley 105. On my old TVS2300 setup.

I have had the NW "boosted" 102 with X-link on a TVS2300 for a year now no issues so far, tuned by Atomic
