k..99 rcsb nbs 5.3L sierra auto. Gonna magnacharge it...and drive it daily...how reliable is it going to be? it will see winter and summer...and will be maintain miticously. My question is, how well will the rear end and tranny hold up to the magnacharger?? Should I be doing some tranny work first...only 60,000KM on the trans..?
Also...truck has headers, downs, cats, mufflers all done, and hp tuners...what kind of 1/4 miles can i expect....??? thnks guys..

How much boost you going to run? Stock 5-6lbs? You should do a shift kit and servos at the very least. I swapped out my trans with only 10K miles on it for a FLT level 5 because I am hard on parts.
The rear end is fine but the stock diff (G80) is a weak link, you might consider a LSD.
Winter driving a boosted ride is tough. You live in Canada right? Rainy days are fun and I have to be pretty careful when in 2wd, snow is going to be even better. You should have no reliability issues either way.
As far as times? Depends on boost and how well you use HPT but a reg cab might run mid 12's on the stock pulley?

okay thats fair...im not concerned about the traction...the witner driver is the crew cab..the rcsb wont be in witner...im getitng two kits......so the stock kit runs at 5-6 psi?
/what is a safe streetable psi level i can run at...just swap the pulley for what else...? Just so i know in the future when I get bored of it.
Corvette servos right? what model year etc.........what kind of shift kit.
sorry for all the ?? but im clueless on the tranny stuff....thnks

Transgo shift kit.
I run 9lbs peak boost and my truck is totally streetable, I drive to and from work every day and get groceries with it. Driving my truck is a joy-----unless i'm stuck in slow traffic, then it sucks! I can only imagine a truck ~1000lbs lighter would be phenomenal!

I run 9psi as well. Daily driver. The stock tune that comes with the kit will work well and not beat up your tranny too bad. Once you start removing tq management (and you will) thats when the shift kit is must. However, I would get it done prior to the Magnacharger just to save the wear on the tranny up front.

Shift kit and servos are a must if the 4L60E has any chance of surviving for a while. Also replace the G80 with a Detroit TrueTrac or Eaton LSD. Corvette or Sonnax servos. Contact FLT(sponsor on the right) for tranny parts advice. Once you start adding boost the 4L60E likely won't last long.

Winter driving = free extra boost. I saw 10psi today with a 3.25" pulley at
-13*C. Kit pulley for a 5.3 is 3.4". I leave it in Auto 4WD for most normal winter driving. Just in case I apply a tad too much pressure to the accelerator pedal. But it's pretty easy to stay out of boost and drive as if the blower wasn't there. Controlling your right foot under control is another story.
