Default 03 2500HD turbo?s

Ive pretty much decided on getting a trick turbo kit(stage 5), Im looking to end up somewhere in the 700 hp ballpark. It looks like Ill need some 80lb injectors at that power level but Im not sure on the rest of the fuel system, do I need a boost a pump or a whole new pump and fuel lines? Also I havent been able to figure out what the stock 4l80 will hold so would I be better off to stop at 450-500 until I get a new converter and trans upgrade(Ill be installing a cooler)?

Im sure Im missing a bunch of stuff as this is going to be my first boosted project so Im trying to build a fairly comprehensive list so any help is appreciated.

Cam swap for sure, then a converter that goes with the cam you choose.

80lbs will be alright, you'll want like a 450lph fuel pump. Stock fuel lines should handle that much flow.

A 4L80e with a shift kit should be fine for 700 horsepower.

well how many miles are on your tranny now?

I had mine rebuilt when I cracked a flywheel with 125k....had it out anyway. Dropped it at my buddy's shop and he didn't believe it wasn't rebuilt already, said it had alot more life left in it. 80's can really take a beating, was 537/515 at the wheels with the first blower, never dyno'd with this one, ran it hot towing fairly often as well.

Ive got 125 on the truck right now and would like to push off the shift kit for a couple months and stay at 550 or so and then maybe do converter, trans, and cam all at the same time unless thats a bad idea.

Where will the stack cam start holding you back on power?

500hp on the stock cam in a 6.0 should be easy enough to get, figure somewhere around there is going to be were it limits you on power.

Stock intake and throttle body will support that power aswell no problem.

I just played it safe and put the shift kit in and not making anywhere close the power you want. The kit is only $100 and I forget what I payed to have it put in but its a piece of mind.

With a bug pump like a 400 or 450 it over powers the stock regulator so an external one is better to have which means modifying the lines in some way.

Is it strictly going to be a play truck? Cause cam and converter can be different for something that is or isnt gonna tow

Is the transgo kit the ones that most people go with and do you have to go inside or is it just in the valve body? I know thats what I put in my el camino and I had the option of adding some springs to the 3rd gear and to the pump which I did.

Any recommendations on a regulator or pump? Ive heard good things about Aeromotive.

And no it will see some track time, my wife wants to get into racing a little bit after seeing me out there in my vette... but it will be used as a truck from time to time.

Also I imagine it would be best to go with a SD tune correct?
