Default 02 Chevy 5.3 w/ HOB D1SC

I recently did this kit and became a dealer for House of Boost just thought I'd share..
Truck 02 Chevy 5.3L 4l60e Trans 3.42 gear virtually bone stock
Mods: hillbilly strait pipes cackles like crazy, had a bulldog Trans controller. I uninstalled...

The HOB kit: we purchased the dedicated drive kit from them I upgraded to the D1SC 4" 10psi pulley, pinned crank and installed new factory balancer and hub. The PCM electric fan kit, and the boost a pump controller. 65lb/hr injectors.

I also did a built 4l60e and a gmpp 2k stall. (He declined the 3400 circle d)

We tuned it and maxed out factory Maf at 5psi so I did a speed density tune on it using the 2.5 bar gm sensor dmax. Then we were running out of fuel even with boost a pump so then I installed the aeromotive 340 stealth and modified the sender slightly. Then it calmed down and the boost a pump was barely even on after that.

I custom made bracketry to mount the front mount intercooler higher for better airflow thru grill. And also cut to fit around front end parts. I also built a custom air inlet before it went to dyno from mandrel T6 aluminum 4" diameter.
Just thought I'd share.. Wasn't too terrible just time consuming mainly because I'm OCD and stuff HAS to look right. A average guy could probly crank it out pretty quick. I had roughly 30-40 hrs into it start to finish.

We tuned it on 87 octane the worst stuff you could put in it. 10psi of boost made 335/328@ wheels on a mustang dyno. Engine is 100% stock and had 174,000 miles on it when it left. This is a great start IMO there is soo much to be had from it it from here with not much more work I pretty confident we could squeeze another 150 out of it with cam/exhaust/ pulley and 91 octane tune.

I know, I know dynos are just a tool blah blah blah

....but those number seem very low. Stock motor or not at 10 psi.

It was unlocked and in second gear for pulls. I forgot to mention.. Sorry. The truck had large aggressive off road tires with not much of a speed rating. So was just playing safe it has some driveline repairs needed too but he was beyond budget so he said he would fix before we do more. We didn't even do one pull in third and locked. 2nd gear was almost 100mph as it was. Lol those mustang dynos are heart breakers.

Ya a cam and exhaust would do a world of difference on the current setup. And I'm thinking of boosting it up to about 15psi. I would really like to do a better converter because this one seems to act a little erratic like it's starting to be overpowered. When boost comes on the graph gets kinda wavy. Dosent seem to be pulling timing or anything..

The bracket will fit, you will just have to come up with your own tubing and intercooler. (Just as I did on my 2008, when I had the HOB system)

Since they only make a "full kit" for the earlier trucks.

I can say this though, that dedicated kit works, and never gave me a lick of trouble. I wish I would have dynoed it on the D-1SC that I had so I could compare it to the i1 that I have now.
