Default driveshaft ?

I have a 01 Silverado ECSB with a stock one piece 4 inch aluminum driveshaft. I have had it on the dyno before but I only ran it in second gear due to fear of it breaking. How many of you guys dyno in third gear with this setup? Should I be scared?

I do. Stock, unbalanced aluminum DS. It has held up so far with repeated abuse.

Don't do it! Not worth it just for dyno numbers. Can you get away with it yeah, will you regret it if you don't...yeah!

lol that would be me!!!!

went to pass an 18wheeler nailed it and boom broke right in the middle!!!

lucky me it didnt tear nothing up ( thank you jesus )

i had a slight vibration at 94, i checked and i was getting about 1" of flex in the center, these drive shafts are like 84" long ( wtf) stay with a 2 piece you'll feel much better!!! take that 1 piece out and put a 2 piece back in!! its not that hard

I have ran mine on the dyno a few times and even ran it up to 156 mph one time when I put it in 4th instead of 3rd, So far, it still in one piece.

I'm looking at ECSB 4wd drive shaft for my conversion. Which one piece drive shafts are coming apart, the ECSB 2wd or 4wd?

Good question. I am 4wd so my driveshaft is only like 66 inches long. I am wondering if it is the longer 2wd driveshafts that are coming apart.
