no truth. they work great other than the "pitch" corection factor wich i never adjusted. very consistant.
the old style can be off a lot depending on how well the operator sets it up but the new ones take care of the set up for you. just stick it to the window and go.

I just got mine yesterday and it seems really consistent. The HP/TQ seemed about right but I cant comment on the quarter mile time because I've never ran my truck at the strip for a comparison.

I wonder if they are worth a crap.
The nitrod has a bunch of additional features some may be interested in and the Escort can be found relatively cheap.
