Default 223/228 400rwhp through an 80E

Here is where I am at 347ci with stock LS6 heads, Stock pulley, stock 78mm TB. https://www.performancetrucks.net/fo...d.php?t=398925

Parts I am adding:
ABS stage 2.5 heads (Used with 3,200 miles)
Ported TB
UD pulley
9" 3200rpm fuddle verter

Parts should be in by the time I get back from my honeymoon. Anyone think I will pick up 39rwhp?? I think it will be close. Either way, it'll be faster Thing is lazy out of the hole with the stock verter, but fast enough to only loose by 1 link to a 13.0@110 F-bod.

so it makes 360 now...with stock cam and stock ls6 heads? if so, yes, you ought to be real close to 400 with those heads and upgraded cam. and of course a good tune to make it all work together. you ought to see good torque as well. thats a good cam for a truck.

IMO: I think the cam, pulleys and a tune would push you to that 400 marker...

I have the 223/228 right now and that dyno is tuned. I'm hoping to pick up 39rwhp with the pulley, Ported TB, heads, 9" converter and oil change.

You do know a looser converter like that fuddle vs your stock one will show lower numbers right?
Well i say like that fuddle but in reality any converter other than stock will lower your hp to the wheels on the ol dyno.

I agree if the converters are both the same size/weight. My thought is that a 9" verter will weigh much less and even though it is looser, once locked the rotating mass change might help or be equal on the final numbers. The stock verter in an 80E is like 12-13" and has got to weigh 50-55lbs.

I could be completely wrong, but I know a lighter flywheel set up or light rear wheels/tires have the same effect.

I'm more banking on the heads/ported TB to bring my numbers up. But I guess we will see when I get back from my honeymoon.
