i gothca. My tires arent balanced and they wobble at certain speeds. You think that has an effect? lower pressure helps reduce wobble.

ill try it. I have at least 3 more passes left in the season.

GOALS:
50psi up front
xx psi out back
-camper shell
-tailgate (if I can hook w/o it)

Higher rpm launch and leave at 3rd light OR idle launch on 2nd light...as much as i love doin them, I want to minimize burnouts

Well the lower pressure stops the wobble because the tire absorbs it. You need to get them balanced because they are wearing funny and they will be junk long before they should be. $40 or so to balance them or you take 10,000 miles of the life. Much efficiant to have them balanced now and help save the tires.

The imbalance will have an effect on you times but I am sure it is so minimal it is uncalculatable. Maybe .0001 in the 1/4.

Cool thanks, ima get it done asap.

Since im running elctronic fuel injection, stock Vortech 5.3, should i let the truck "warm up"? how long before the sensors kick in and it runs efficiently?

i was letteing it warm up at least one minute before the burnout, then raced. burn out should help it "warm up" correct? well im gonna keep those to a minimum. Ive been launching fine with out doin them so ill just go around the water (still have camper and tailgate on tho, 1/4 tank of gas).

I wouldn't burn out if you don't need to. It usually doesn't help street tires anyhow.

CAMPER??????????????? I would leave the gate on. It hasn't shown to help me. It has been proven to help aerodynamics(no proof in the 1/4).

I personally have not gained anything by keeping my truck cool. One time pushed it through the pits, it was almost cold before burnout. It helped nothing but didn't loose anything if I remember.

Camper shell lol. helps with aerodynamics as well. Get better MPGs with it on. Not sure about track times tho. 1/4 tank of gas minus 150 lb camper shell and 50lb tailgate. MIGHT see 15's. Im gonna take reduce wieght and go practice my launch tomorrow. I can only launch at about 1600-1900 as of 2 hours ago.

Have you run with the tailgate up/down and off?

She'll chirp and squeel for as long as ive got my foot in it. I couldnt drive around the water, they sprayed all the way across the track. I didnt wanna run wet lol.

Yes the gate alone hasn't done anything for me, up, down, off. I leave it on because I hate the look of it off. I personaly have tons of weight reduction ane the look of gate up and on is better for me then the weight off.

what are you running in the 1/8 time and mph wise? whats your 60'? is your truck a 5speed? my yukon weighs 6000lbs and i ran at our local 1/8 track with 1/2 tank of gas (31gal tank) removed 3rd row and spare and only mod was a cold air intake and i went around the water box and pulled off a 10.54@67mph my 60' was like 2.3x. ive got 3.73s in mine also. ive been itching to go back since i instaled the servo, tune and exhaust. my fstest run was 10.54 my slowest was 10.62 so i think id have some fun bracket racing also lol
