Default New times with the new motor

I went out with the group to crandell Friday night. First runs with the LS1 N/A, not bad for a nitrous/boost motor.
1st run: 12.72@104, 1.83-60ft(spinning and pig rich)
2nd run: 12.56@106, 1.77-60ft(adj the qa-1's and leaned it out from 11.9 afr)

I stopped after that cause I need to do a lot of tuning, and Corey broke his trans, so I figured it was a good time to wrap it up.

Fun night back for sure!! I can't wait for the nitrous times!!

LS1 specs are 11:1 forged 347, rings gapped for 20 psi(future mod), 799 heads with valve job, ferra valves, touch up and mill, cam in sig, tbbs intake.

those are some strong passes. however im confused how 11:1 is considered a boosted motor? ring gap cant make as much of a difference.

thanks guys. Its more of a boost ready short block. Big ring gap, and low tension rings, are good for big spray/mild boost. I am down 25-30 hp vs a normal n/a motor. I have flat top JE pistons in it with a 60cc chamber head for now. Later it will have larger chamber heads at ~9.5:1 comp with a turbo kit. I am shooting for 10's with a small shot, I may slowly creap it up to a 200 shot.

I wouldve expected faster out of it to be honest. Stock longblock 5.3s with much smaller cams and converters on stock truck intakes run those times. Is there anything else that may be slowing it down?

I was just kidding! I guess some folks run faster than others, but I have never been that fast n/a, so I am excided about it. I congrat everyone on there new times, no matter what I have seen else where. In our group, It aint bad. We never had a 5.3 pass 13.1stock long block n/a here, so that is what I go after.

Makes sense that you are changing heads for boost. 11:1 plus boost would make awsome power but you better have some serious bottom end.

Congrats on your time. It is always exciting to meet or exceed you goals. I would agree seems like it should be faster. Maybe the DA was horrible? Did you look it up? Very respectable just seems like it should have a good deal left in it.
