Default New setup, new times

These are two time slips from our local 500' short track. The first slip is on my 270k mile stock 5.3 on street tires. The second slip is the same setup except for a low mile stock lq4 and a set of slicks. Overall I'm very happy with my new times. http://Name: IMG_0074.jpg

It felt really good. I eventually ended up going a 1.88 60' with the same et. I feel like i am still getting a very small amount of tire spin. Gonna replace the original worn out shocks with some rancho 9000s and see if it improves.

I agree! After a little suspension work hopefully a cam and some head work will be in the budget. I want to get the most out of the stock engine before I out more power to the tires.

Having 4.10s and a 3400 stall you are gonna be able to go big on the cam for sure. A 226/230 would be a really nice overall cam. Even better a 229/234 would really scream up top. If you have some fabricating skills relocating the rear shocks and going to adjustable would really go a long way suspension wise on the rear. Also removing the overload spring or clamping it.

Caltracs and shocks will be my next step. The swaybar will probably get tossed too along with any other weight I can safely take out of the truck.
