I think I broke into 12's..

I wanna show you guys this. If that's the cam, his torque curve will look like the following. How do I know? Because 3/4th of single pattern cams with 4* of advance look like this!

Check out the blue line. Oh.. Thanks Josh Luther! This is his 224/224-112+4 with XE-R lobes... Same cam, but 2* smaller than Tans. What's wrong with this torque curve? Precisely nothing, except we're talking about 4000LB trucks with 3000 rpm converters (2600 for Tan)... A slowly climbing torque curve is great, but what about one like this...

Can you see this difference? Lets assume that both cams are making the same amount of peak HP and peak TQ. We'll use Josh's dyno and say 335FT LBS and 335HP. The only difference is the other cam makes 335LBS way before peak torque for these motors (4800 RPM). The sooner you make torque, the harder Tanz truck is gonna come off the line.
Just shows how important the head/cam choice is. Who knows? He may be deep in the 12s with 15-25 more FT LBs 1000rpm sooner, ya know?

Thats true, but do you not think it would be streetable with a 3800 or 4000 converter? Thats almost the default size for F-body guys with cammed motors. I know that trucks are a good bit heavier but wouldn't the driveability be similar with the F-body's?

Look at Josh's dyno... The further you move up RPM (until 4800), TQ increases. Pretty much, the bigger the converter, the quicker he will go.
With the 2nd dyno... You could very well come off the line just as hard with a 3500 converter as opposed to a 4500.

Yes but if he flashes it TOO much wouldnt he be actually hurting his self I mean lets say he flashes at 4k-4200 and then that only leaves 600 rpms till its out of peak torque, Wouldnt it be better to amybe have close to a 1000rpms till you run out of peak torque?
