drag tire question
#21
How fast you been skolman? I been high 9s on a et street and a radial front, no problem. Takes alot of work to make anything with any power work on a drag radial.
How fast have you been mr intelligent?

Any tire manufacture or anybody with some sense will tell you not to mix bias rears with radial fronts. You even said a few posts up its a handfull.
My point was stopping telling someone that prob isnt making over 400hp to run a slick. You might want to wreck your "9sec" ride, but i doubt he wants to wreck his truck..

Tell ya what mr intelligent, if he can't handle a 13second ride on slicks, he has no business bein on the drag strip.
Next time you go to drag strip, look at how many "idiots" there are that run the same way. Do you go to the drag strip or do you just read manufactures suggestions on how it should be done?

alot of interesting debating going on in here. im interested in this thread bc im looking for some sort of stickier, shorter tire to run at the track as well. this will be my first attempt at getting my truck to "hook" as low pro 22s dont quite get it done lol. also, i have a set of 16 stockers as well. sorry for the thread jack

I haven't been terribly fast on my old set up but I have been just over a 100 with absolutely no sign of any issues from mixing tires. Next year I hope to have the truck back together and should run 11s or better on a 100 shot. I am sure after spending all the money I have I won't be buying bias tires for upfront right away and don't anticipate there being issues.
Radials are getting better but they are still best only if you are running in a class that requires a radial tire. Especially in a truck since we are fighting less then ideal weight balance already.
