Default drag tire question

I'm sick of running down the track in 4high.

I have some 16x7. stockers. Iv looked at 255/55 MT. Whould that even be a wide enough for me to hook. Also. How wide could I go "safely".

May have to just go with a different wheel. 6X5.5

Any ideas. Thanks

I run ET Street Radials (255/50) on the stock rims. Hooks high 1.5's on a good prepped track. 1.7-1.8 sixty worse case.

What kind of times are you running?

The 255/55 will fit on your wheel but an 8-9 would be ideal. Generaly a bias slick will be much more helpfull especialy on a truck. That is why I ask what tire you are looking at.

Well I'm not looking to spend a lot. Or I would just go with different wheels. But as far as brand. I havnt realy got that far. I think just going from a 31 inch tire to a 27 should help by changing my gear ratio

Get some hoosier 28x10-16s They work very well on stock rims. They are a full slick

They will fit. It isn't ideal but it won't cause any real issues. Only down side is that you won't be putting all the rubber on the road but you should still have plenty of traction.
