Disappointing Times!

my shift points are at 6000. I run an open 1'' spacer and I have considered sending converter back off to have it reflashed. Camshaft was installed straight up. What would be a good long tube header thesince hedmans are restrictive. And timing is set at 35 degrees. Thanks

Well for starters use some online weather station software to compare approximate conditions for your times. There are some links on here somewhere. It could give you some insight. Years ago I had 2 identical pickups except 1 was a Long Bed and the other was SB. The LB felt stronger with a comp 280 cam than the SB with the comp 270 cam. It would pull it in a roll. Ironically at our local 1/8 mi. track the SB would pull it .2 sec. The smaller cam won every time. Maybe you need more converter as well.

Were you spinning out of the hole? If not then I think you'll be amazed at what a better stall and exhaust change will do for you. LT's will really open up the high end, and the stall will only help that cause as well.
I would look for a 1 3/4 primary with that size stall and cam with aftermarket heads. I also agree that your 6k shift point sounds too low. I know the LS engines are a different ball game... but I'm running a 222/226 and I'm reving mine to 6300 in a 6.0.

Might want to get it to hook before changing anything but the stall definately needs to be a bit higher to yield the best times and increase the rpms for shift points. What heads are you switching too...that could also change the setup.
Another question, do you have a cross over for your duals like an X pipe?

The AFR or trickflow heads will definately need the 1 3/4" pipe to clear the exhaust ports. I have AFRs as well and a 1 5/8" tube won't clear the square ports.
As far as exhaust, you need an X-pipe to help the top end of the engine scavange the other banks of the engine better which would definately help on the top end.
