Default Detroit Locker

Who's sporting a Detroit Locker at the track? What kind of power can they take?

I've gone through 2 Yukon Duragrips (Eaton Posi) already. The first one had the 400 lb springs in it and maybe 3500km on it, the second maybe had 500km on it and the 800 lb springs in it. The spiders and side gears just aren't strong enough, I broke 15 teeth of the side gears last Saturday at the track. I have a 30 spline 8.6" 10 bolt and I'm trying to decide what the best solution is as I'd like to keep the ABS and Stabilitrak.

Why don't you look into a 14 bolt swap? I personaly would put my money on a stock 14 bolt over a 10 bolt anything. If you pop the 14 diff down the road then upgrade and you are bullit proof. If the stock holds for the life of the truck then you are event better off!

Because I'd like to keep my 15" rims and not carry the extra weight of the 14 bolt. It may be an option I'll go with but for the mean time I'd like to stick with the 10 bolt.

Dick,
I presume you saw this thread ?
https://www.performancetrucks.net/fo...advice-520655/

That is the only wear I saw and if you change the c-clips every once in awhile it should run for years. Some people must not get the same wear as I did...like Skeet above.

Detroit locker here, it has held 500 and 700 rwhp so far and a few 60 fts in the 1.5 range. The one advice I was given was to roll forward in a straight line to make sure the locker was fully engage before really laying into it or you could send parts flying.
