Biggest Tire?
#1
I have a 2007 Hemi 4X4 SLT SCSB and would like to step up the tire size. I got the 17" wheels and am curious as to how big people are going without needing a lift kit. Thanks...

Thanks for the response...
I don't know how the suspension and ride height differ from 05 to 07, but those are huge tires for a non-lifted truck! I suspect your articulation suffered greatly with the addition of those monsters.
I guess the question should have read... how big can I go without a lift, brake upgrade or major reduction in performance... I looked at the 35's and 37's but, the weight increase is a crazy 20 to 30 pounds of rotating mass (per tire), the reduction in gear ratio in relation to towing and off the line performance is cripling and in my opinion they reduce brake capability enough to take it off the table as a possiblity. The 285X70 17 are basically 33X11.50 and give you the full range of steering, suspension travel, minimal gear loss and you only increase 5 pounds over the pitiful 245X70 17's. All and all I think it is the right choice for a stock rig.
Thanks for your help though...

I don't get on here much because people don't respond to your questions like they don on other boards. It took a while before anyone responded to some of my posts.
